Whether you’re young or old and no matter how smart you are, your wisdom doesn’t compare to your Heavenly Father’s. He always was and always will be. He created the universe and all that is in it. No matter what decision you have to make, it’s important to seek God first. If you yielded your life to Jesus as Lord, that means what He says goes.
That’s why it is important to read the Bible and to pray. How much time is a person to spend in daily prayer? Some say an hour. Some say several. Some say pray as you go. No matter how much time you put in, it’s important to continue until you get clear direction from the Lord, at least for the next step. A daily quiet time is a must, praying on the go is important, but there are times when you pray, like Jesus did, all night or at least several hours. Pray according to the need. Pray according to your desire to seek Him. Pray according to His command. Whatever you do, and however you do it, pray!
Pray for His wisdom and be confident that you have it. Do not second guess yourself over all your decisions. Step out in faith. If you’ve “missed it,” the Lord will get you back on track. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 clearly instructs you to pray for those in authority so that you and your family may live in peace. Don’t neglect this important task. Pray for God’s will to be done in all of the country’s decisions and that His name will be honored.
