President Donald Trump has no public events scheduled for today.
On Friday, as rioters were protesting in Washington D.C., the White House went under lockdown for a brief period when protestors pushed down fences. On Saturday, the Secret Service were joined by the U.S. Park Police, in riot gear, to prevent a breached of White House security. Curfews have been put in place in cities where the riots are occurring. Unrest has been experienced in several large metropolitan areas around the country due to the death of George Floyd early last week.
In March, the National Parks Service and the Secret Service began the project of replacing the White House fencing. The new barrier will be thirteen feet tall in contrast to the current height of six feet six inches. Sections of the White House fence date back to the 1920s.
