Psalm 16:11 – You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
If you feel that God is sometimes far away, you aren’t alone. Among Christians, in a Pew Research survey taken in 2018, fewer than 10 percent of Christian adults say they actually feel the presence of God. Often it is in a church setting. Outside of church, the numbers go lower. But for the slow percentage who say they do feel God present with them, fully 71 percent say they pray every day.
God has promised never to leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). What does that mean to you? He doesn’t want you to wait until you enter Heaven’s gates to feel His presence. It is available to you right here and right now. Many Psalms praise the Lord for being with the writer. In Psalm 23, you need fear no evil. Why? Because God is with you. Seek Him out today. Spend time in His Word. Pray. Draw near to Him. He is here. Right now!
Pray With Us
Thank You, Eternal Father, for Your promises to always be with me. I admit to falling back into feelings and away from the knowledge that You are here with me. I long for the joy of Your presence today. I pray back to You Your promise of Genesis 28:15 that says, “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go.” I praise You, O Lord God, for giving me the assurance of Your faithful presence. I love you, Father.
Amen.
