Proverbs 1:5 – Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.
God’s Word has much to say about making good choices and having wisdom in your decision-making. As states begin reopening from the impact of the COVID-19 virus, many—perhaps you are among them—are concerned that it may be too soon, that the environments might not be safe. Meanwhile, from physicians and government leaders come conflicting messages: “Everything is okay” or “Best to continue staying at home.”
Now is the time to seek the Lord. Call upon Him for insight, and raise your voice for understanding, it says in Proverbs 2:3. In James 1:5, you read, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” Take the time to assess situations for yourself, and don’t be hasty. “Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses is way” (Proverbs 19:2). Finally, place your cares in faith upon God for direction. He cares for you and will direct your paths.
Pray With Us
Heavenly Father, I admit that I am driven by my own desires right now, but at the same time, I am perplexed that decisions I am preparing for myself and my family might not be the right ones for us. Help me double-check my motives. Help me to know what is the way You want us to go. Help me not to ignore warning signs that might pertain to our circumstances. I trust You, Almighty God, and I am not afraid. Keep us from harm, I pray, in Jesus’ Name.
Amen.
