The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. – Psalm 103:19
There are few celebrations in the world that can equal the coronation of a monarch. Elizabeth II was crowned Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon when she received the crown in June 1953 in Westminster Abbey, London. She acceded to the British throne at the age of 25 after her father George VI, died. During the coronation ceremony, she took an oath, was anointed with holy oil, and invested with robes and regalia. Her kingdom has seen many changes since her most solemn day 66 years ago.
Israel’s King Uzziah had reigned for 52 years, bringing prosperity and national security to his people. His death weakened the nation and was seen as the end of an era for Israel. During that time of national sorrow, the prophet Isaiah went to the Temple to pray for consolation. But he received more than God’s comfort. He was given a vision of God’s holiness as He sat upon Heaven’s Royal Throne. No other vision like it has been granted to another prophet. To say Isaiah was overwhelmed with awe would be a generous understatement, as he heard the angelic choir sing, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.”
Evidence of God’s royal rule and His glory are all around you… if you have eyes to see. The very radiance of His splendor shines forth in His character, and in sunsets that take your breath away with their beauty. His purity is seen in the first smile of an infant, whose innocence has not yet been put to the test. Yet, He remains both knowable and unknowable as you become aware of the gulf that exists between your partial understanding of Him and what will be revealed when you meet the glorious King of Majesty.
Today, bow the knee in awe before Him. Revel in the knowledge that in Jesus Christ, you are forgiven and will surely see the King! Pray that those who serve in high places will desire to know God and receive His pardon.

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory!”
4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”
8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
