John 16:33 – “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Now that COVID-19 has come into the vocabulary of all Americans, it is time to think about those initials in another way:
C – Consider the lilies (Luke 12:27). God sees and cares about the smallest of things. He cares for you.
O – Obedience is better (1 Samuel 15:22). God wants you to follow Him without wavering.
V – Victory comes through your faith (1 John 5:4). Everyone born of God overcomes the world.
I – Indwelling Holy Spirit brings love, joy and peace (Galatians 5:22). You can take your rest in Him.
D – Delight yourself in the Lord (Psalm 37:4). Praise Him. Do not give in to the world’s worries.
19 – Psalm 19 reminds you of God’s glory and His power. And the goodness of His Word.
Pray With Us
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me through Your precious Word of the truths that I need to keep before me. Because of who You are, Lord God, I can trust in Your promises. Through Your Holy Spirit, I can find inner peace. Let that peace shine forth from me to those around me who are worried and concerned by that “other” COVID-19 today. Help me share the blessings that come only from knowing You and spending time in Your Holy Word. I thank You, in Jesus Name.
Amen.
