Be still, and know that I am God. – Psalm 46:10
It’s been said “the whole world is a banana peel, so you better learn how to fall.” Advice from professional stunt-people agrees. If you find yourself going down, the best thing to do, if you can, is to relax and roll with the momentum—your body will sustain less damage. Injuries happen when you become rigid trying to save yourself and use stiff arms or braced legs.
Today, it’s easy to view world events as a nosedive into chaos thinking you must do something dramatic to rescue yourself. But that isn’t what God usually calls His people to do. Historically during challenging times, God asks His followers to remain faithful and serve others, spreading His message of hope through His Son Jesus Christ. You might find that difficult if you have not recently examined your own source of hope. Do you trust God is good and is doing exactly what needs to be done to bring people and nations to Himself? Will you depend on His sovereignty and power alone to answer your deepest needs? Walking in faith is like learning to fall: you must relax your grip on anything but Christ to land well.
Today, ask God to increase your faith and then release your hold on anything but Him for security. Pray for those in leadership across America, both in government and in houses of faith, to place their entire weight on Him. This world can trip anyone up, but you don’t have to be afraid if you choose to fall into the arms of God.
Today’s Verse: Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”

22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
