Today, President Donald Trump will hold a conference call with Food and Agriculture Industry leaders. The president said at a press conference on Tuesday that he will be signing an executive order to ensure that meat processing plants are able to remain functional during the pandemic to protect the food supply chain.
Different suppliers of beef, pork, and poultry have indicated that the weight of the guidelines for employees and the working environment have taxed their ability to keep up production. President Trump said the Defense Production Act will be utilized to accomplish the processing and distribution of the plentiful supply.
