Pass It On

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Blessings are not yours to hoard.  Many people around you, perhaps you yourself, are suffering from the affliction of the coronavirus. Certainly all are weary of COVID-19 and what it has brought to the world.  Suffering and affliction are very real. They are nothing new. They have assaulted God’s people throughout recorded time.

Yet God sees those afflictions and is there to give comfort.  Anchor yourself when you need comfort to the unrelenting love of God and to the knowledge of His presence with you. God has said that He has empathy with your suffering, yet He remains sovereign in his plans for you. With Him, you can achieve victory over your affliction.

Whatever has invaded our life, rely on God’s comfort. Likewise, when you understand what His comfort gives, you are in a position to extend that comfort to others.   In you, they will see a glimpse of all that God is, and the comfort will become like the ripples on a pond after a pebble is dropped in—a circle that grows ever wider, more encompassing, giving greater comfort to more and more people. And isn’t that what America needs right now?

Pray With Us

Heavenly Father, You are indeed the Father of all mercies, the God of all comfort.  Thank You for loving me, for understanding when I feel in need of Your comfort. Thank You that You still rule over all, and that whatever befalls me, You will always be the victor. I stand with those concepts in confidence. Help me to see those around me who need Your comfort and to be the conduit of Your mercy and grace to them. Then we will bless You together. For Jesus’ sake,

Amen.
