President Donald Trump is holding a video teleconference with G7 leaders today. As head of the G7 this year, the president seeks to coordinate national responses with these nations who have also had to deal with the tremendous impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
“Working together, the G7 is taking a whole-of-society approach to tackle the crisis across multiple areas, including health, finance, humanitarian assistance, and science and technology,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said.
This conference will be a follow-up to the first ever video teleconference of the G7, which was held on March 16. Another teleconference is anticipated in May to prepare for the virtual summit in June.
