Jesus Is Alive!

The Lord reigns. – Psalm 99:1

Today is Easter Sunday. Glorious Day! Jesus rising from the dead gives all believers hope. Hope to be accepted by God the Father. Hope to have sins forgiven. Hope of the Holy Spirit living inside. Hope of answered prayer. Hope of eternal life. Never mind the Easter eggs, fluffy chicks and chocolate bunnies, though yummy, Jesus lit the world up with hope to all who believe.  (Read these references for more insight: Colossians 1:6, Ephesians 1:7, John 16:7, John 14:14, John 3:16.)

In addition, Jesus is the personification of peace, power, patience, sacrifice, mercy, grace, righteousness, gentleness, kindness, joy, truth, humility, holiness, life, light, love,  self-control, victory, and of God Himself. (These verses will give you more insight: Ephesians 2:14, Acts 3:16, Matthew 17:17, Hebrews 10:12, John 8:11, John 11:7, 1 Corinthians 1:30, Matthew 12:20, Matthew 19:14, John 15:11, John 14:6, Philippians 2:6-7, Hebrews 7:26, John 1:4, John 8:12, 1 Peter 3:18, Luke 22:42, 1 Corinthians 15:57, John 4:8-9.)

Let this day be a day of rejoicing. Yes, Jesus suffered a terrible death on the cross, but He endured it for the joy set before Him. “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2). Whatever you or the country is going through, because He’s alive and He reigns, you have peace, love, joy and hope. Pray for a great revival in the nation: that people, from the top of government to your neighbor down the street, will come to know Jesus, the all in all.

Today’s Verse: Psalm 99:1

The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” And they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, 11 but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened.
