Hopes to revitalize the struggling economy
On Tuesday President Trump began promoting a new $2 trillion infrastructure package that is aimed at bringing laid-off Americans back to work and keep the struggling economy from going into a nose dive due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The president pledged during his 2016 campaign to bring about more construction projects and beautify the nation through expansive spending.
One main consideration that the president cited were the dramatically low interest rates brought about by the Federal Reserve working to preserve the economy. “With interest rates for the United States being at ZERO, this is the time to do our decades long awaited Infrastructure Bill,” President Trump wrote on Twitter. “It should be VERY BIG & BOLD, Two Trillion Dollars, and be focused solely on jobs and rebuilding the once great infrastructure of our Country! Phase 4.”
