1,000 hospital beds being made available.
The U.S. Navy Hospital Ship USNS Comfort arrived in New York Harbor on Monday to help bring much needed medical assistance to one of the epicenters of the COVID-19 crisis in the country. The 1,000-bed ship arrived as the death toll from the virus surpassed 1,200 people. The ship will not be used for COVID-19 cases, but rather will be easing pressure on local hospitals that are treating the virus.
“We bring a message to all New Yorkers – now, your Navy has returned and we are with you committed in this fight,” said Rear Admiral John Mustin. USNS Comfort was last in New York following the 9/11 terror attacks. According to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the ship will be used primarily as a “relief valve” for the time being.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would protect the medical workers around the nation fighting COVID-19
- For the Trump Administration to effectively stop the spread of the disease.
- For local leaders to have wisdom on how to end the spread of this sickness.
