Justice Department announced on Thursday that it had brought charges against current Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro for converting Venezuela into a criminal enterprise in service to drug cartels and terrorist organizations. The State Department has offered $15 million to anyone who offers information that leads to the arrest of Maduro.
“The Maduro regime is awash in corruption and criminality,” Barr said in an online news conference from Washington. “While the Venezuelan people suffer, this cabal lines their pockets with drug money and the proceeds of their corruption. And this has to come to an end.” Fourteen total officials had charges brought against them by the Justice Department.
