Expressed thankfulness for the nation’s response to the federal guidelines.
As part of the Coronavirus Task Force Briefing on Tuesday, Vice President Pence said businesses large and small are responding to the threats of the virus and called it truly inspiring. He thanked Americans for being responsive to the guidelines and again reminded those who have been flagrant that they need to adhere to the guidelines to protect the most vulnerable among us.
The vice president added that the task force is focused on testing and supplies in order to give healthcare workers the support they need. This includes private-public partnerships that are working on the response and on carrying out testing.
He also reiterated that, just like large hospitals, all county hospitals, labs, and others need to be reporting information to the CDC so that full data and best practices can be determined.
In giving an update on the numbers, the vice president said that sixty percent of the new cases in the country come from the New York Metro area. The task force is calling on all Americans in the New York City metropolitan area to adhere to the guidelines in order to slow the spread. He continued by saying that New Yorkers should avoid non-essential travel, regularly monitor their temperatures, be informed and quick to identify symptoms, and self-isolate if they have traveled out of the country in the last month.
The vice president promised that resources will continue to surge into the New York metro area and added that alternative medical facilities are being built by the Army Corps of Engineers. FEMA is working on building out a hospital facility in the Javits Center.
He again praised the private industry for stepping up to assist in many ways, including donating masks and medical equipment.
He concluded that, if the nation can follow the guidelines, America could quickly return to work.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Director Kudlow and Secretary Mnuchin as they work to negotiate the next phase of a stimulus package with Congress.
- For God to be at work in the hearts of all Americans during this time and His name would be glorified.
