President Donald Trump will begin the week by meeting with Vice President Mike Pence for a working lunch. The two are expected to focus the majority of their attention on the federal effort to contain and respond to the coronavirus outbreak. Currently, the White House and Congress are continuing their efforts to mitigate the effects of the virus on the economy. Small businesses have been heavily affected and the president said that the administration is paying special attention to small business needs in the upcoming relief packages.
On Sunday, during the White House briefing, the president spoke to the nation, “This is a challenging time for all Americans. We are enduring a great national trial and we will prove that we will meet the moment.”. He continued by saying, “we are at war, and we will defeat this invisible enemy.” He concluded by praising the response of Americans nationwide, “I am very proud of our country.”
This afternoon, the president and the White House Coronavirus Task Force is scheduled to give another press briefing to update the nation on current events.
