There are times in the life of every person and nation when situations cause you to become overwhelmed. When you are honest with yourself, you may recall a time during such situations when you wonder where God is and what He is doing.
He has given you many promises to claim, but He has also revealed Himself through Scripture and that “still small voice” that He is a Sovereign King, knowing everything, and that He is in control of His creation.
“For I know the plans I have for you [my child, my church, my world], plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11.
God is a God of purpose. He has predestined the activities of men and nations from before the founding of the Earth. “Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases” (Psalm 115:3). But in a mysterious way, He has invited you to intercede, to come to Him with your fears and cares, even to bend His will. “Because He inclined His ear to me. therefore, I will call upon him as long as I live” (Psalm 116:2).
Today, when the world and America is faced with a pandemic known as the coronavirus ( COVID-19), the Lord asks you to come to Him, in faith believing that He is still Lord overall. Not even a single sparrow falls to the ground apart from the Father’s will (Matthew 10:29).
The dark times of life cannot be avoided. But they can surely be prayed over. God is present. He wants to shelter you. He longs for you to draw near to Him.
Pray With Us
Holy Father, Sovereign Lord. I admit I am overwhelmed by the onset of this terrible virus. I struggle with my own feelings about it and whether I or someone I love will suffer its ravages of illness or even death. Father, I need your help!
You have said, and I believe You, that Your presence is always with me. That You will never leave me or forsake me. Help me with the realization that You are there; help me draw nearer into Your presence and feel Your tenderness.
Give me the strength today to make it through this terrible time. Give me the hope that can only come from You.
I love You and trust You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
