Signing funding bill and visit to CDC among efforts
Although earliest communications from the White House to the nation regarding the coronavirus outbreak were not comprehensive, President Trump has taken very proactive steps in curbing further spread of the virus. His visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was initially postponed due to concerns of contamination, but after the worker in question tested negative, the visit was rescheduled.
In more legislative realms, the senate passed a bill on Thursday that would increase response funding from $2.5 billion to $8.3 billion. President Trump signed the bill on Friday. Trump stated to reporters, “I asked for $2.5 (billion) and I got $8.3 (billion). And I’ll take it.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That President Trump would continue to encourage and stabilize the nation as steps are made to prevent a serious outbreak.
- For workers in the Center for Disease Control as they fight the virus.
- That the Lord would grant U.S. citizens both caution and comfort in the face of the coronavirus.
