Remarks from Senator Schumer targeted Supreme Court Justices
On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell condemned remarks by the Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer about two members of the Supreme Court. Senator Schumer said on the steps of the court on Wednesday, “You have unleashed the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
In response, Senator McConnel said, “The minority leader of the United States Senate threatened two associate justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. Period.” He went on to call Senator Schumer to “withdraw his comments and apologize.” Senator Schumer did later apologize for his remarks saying that his word choice was poor.
