Sixth coronavirus death confirmed in Seattle
The chief health officer for Seattle and King County Public Health agency announced that six people in the Seattle area have died of illness caused by the coronavirus.
Federal health officials confirmed that there had been a potential contamination of previously provided test kits, but that the problem had been corrected and the number of test kits would be radically expanded in coming weeks.
The number of cases in the U.S. as of March 1 had risen to 91. It is anticipated that number will grow. Ten states have confirmed or presumed coronavirus cases. The virus has killed more than 3,000 people worldwide since it emerged in China in December. Johns Hopkins does report that, of the over 90,000 global cases of confirmed COVID-19, slightly more than half of those infected have recovered.
A coalition of Christians across denominational lines are uniting to pray for an end to the coronavirus. They have called for “the whole Church to cry out together for the mercy and healing power of God to contain it.” They have asked that believers stand united on March 3 and petition the Sovereign Lord for His mercy.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For families, communities, medical providers, and the nation to be spared from the virus.
- For a spirit of power and love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7) to prevail.
- For wisdom for America’s leaders and for emergency responders.
- That God, in His mercy, would ease the virus worldwide, and heal those who are currently infected.
