President Donald Trump will address a gathering of Rural Stakeholders on California Water Accessibility in Bakersfield, California, today. Issues regarding water for the farming communities in the center of the state have been a stated concern of the president. The administration’s proposed changes to the Clean Water Act would ease federal regulations on national public waterways that would effect roughly two-thirds of California waterways. The Navigable Protection Rule would release ephemeral or intermittent waterways that are created by rain or snow from federal oversight.
Andrew Wheeler, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, has said that government overreach within the Clean Water Act diminished the ability of developers and landowners to thrive. He reported that 51 deregulatory actions have been completed by the EPA under President Trump’s guidance in order to streamline permitting and encourage development projects.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for President Trump as he works to balance business and environmental issues.
- For Andrew Wheeler as the EPA determines the regulations to retain or to ease.
- For the Lord’s leading in the ways the government stewards the United States’ environment and economy.
