“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not be done.” – Romans 1:28
How do you do with slots? Not THOSE kinds of slots, but the kind employed by air traffic control to manage landings. Using a slot-based system, controllers assign each plane a time frame in which they may land and pilots adjust their speed to hit that window. The system works extremely well because pilots, while being in control of the aircraft, are also passengers on the plane. They trust the tower engineers to give them the best information for the safest landing.
Some openly reject God’s instruction on how to live, as found in the Bible. Yet, who better to direct you to a safe arrival into His eternal presence than the One who loves you deeply and cares most that you do not end up in a fiery crash?
Can you imagine the chaos and carnage if pilots ignored air traffic controllers? The analogy works in your life also. Living outside the boundaries of God’s Word will eventually result in overwhelming chaos and deadly circumstances. God desires your safety and success. While His ways may appear to be difficult, He gives you His Spirit to lead, comfort, and encourage you to a purposeful and honorable life.
Today, pray for those in American leadership who are personally denying God’s authority over them to reconsider their position. Ask Him to redirect the efforts of those actively working to remove His hand from American laws and rules of governing. Watch for potential candidates inclined to follow God’s word and sustain the nations daily work under His sovereign rule. Use your votes to secure America a safe slot for landing in 2020.
Today’s Verse: Romans 1:28
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
